"I get visual references from many different sources, some of them are as old as cartoon and Nintendo and Sega video games, others come from my art history classes, and a lot of them come from music, movies, and science. I have a particular interest in biology and physics; specifically in the microcosmos and the macrocosmos. Since I started to take a look at how my body works and the environment surrounding it, I have received many moments of joy and amazing personal discoveries. It´s this feeling of joy and amazement the one that drives me to create and share with all the viewers the things that blow my mind. I would say that my art is a mix of geometry and psychedelia. Through the use of simple geometric forms, I like to design a wide range of characters that inhabit a micro-universe filled with atmospheres full of rhythm, color shades, and optical illusions. By dealing with scientific concepts like quantum particles, fragmentation, infinity, and cell reproduction, I like to invite the beholder to enter a mystical world full of mathematics and questions about the nature of matter, spirit and our own existence. Been obsessed with tesselations for many years now, so I have great influence of pattern designs from precolumbian civilizations in America, Islamic tiles and wood carvings, as well as European designers from the XX century like Koloman Moser and M.C. Escher." -Raul Sisniega
